Great service. Came here for breakfast. The place was very busy. Ordered a couple of the skillets. Both were very good. Very reliable and consistent restaurant. Would highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. Haven't eaten a regular meal here, but if it's anything like breakfast, not sure you can go wrong. Good job!

Outstanding service. The walleye, broccoli and cheddar soup, liver and onions, cottage cheese, potatoes salad, chicken strip, cheeseburger and both lemon margined and coconut cream pies were all excellent. The price was very good too.
Was passing through and stayed the night in town, on a road trip last month. The next morning I was hungry for breakfast, and wanted to find somewhere local to eat, if possible. This place is conveniently located on First Ave, on the east side of town. As I drove up there were several vehicles in the parking lot, which I usually take as a good sign. I parked and headed in. I was greeted and promptly seated by the hostess. This is family owned, I'm sure. Fairly promptly they got my drink order and asked if I was ready to order food. I needed a few minutes. Service was attentive throughout, even though the servers were kept busy. Ordered a hash brown skillet. Food came out not much later. Food was delicious and hot, and coffee was hot. No complaints here. Seemed to be a lot of locals dining there, and then myself. Cheery atmosphere. Food was reasonably priced. If you find yourself in or near Newton, IA, give this place a chance! I am sure during the racing season this place gets packed. Thank you to your staff for a good experience!
